WordPress Wednesdays – Dummy Images

In the past we’ve talked about finding images for your website, and also about the use of placeholder copy (dummy text) to fill in text areas which don’t yet have any copy written.

There are a many great sites which offer the option to create placeholder graphics (dummy images) for your website, basically just placeholders until you can get the real photo or graphic.  This is especially important if the size/shape of the image is important to the lay-out of your website.

Lorem PixelPlaceholder Images for every case. Webdesign or Print. It’s simple and absolutely free! Just put the custom url in your code like this:<img src=”http://lorempixel.com/400/200″ />to get your FPO / dummy image.

Dummy ImageDynamic Dummy Image Generator (http://dummyimage.com/)
Generates a box with the dimensions of the image.  Customizable foreground/background colours, and option to add text instead of the default dimensions.
