Make Mine Mobile – Facebook on the Go

Did you know that, every month, over 500 million people access Facebook via mobile device?

Not only that, but research shows that – on average – mobile users are twice as active as web users!

So what can you do to ensure you make the grade in Facebook’s mobile newsfeed?

Get to the point

No one likes to read long blocks of text, but mobile users only have so much screen space. Even a few sentences may prompt them to skip your info-laden post. To combat this, try to keep your posts approximately the same length as your tweets (140 characters).

Be eye-catching

Photos tend to display well on mobile device, especially since Facebook acquired Instagram.

Poll, don’t question

Questions can be a great way to boost engagement, but most mobile users won’t bother answering anything more complex than multiple choice. Keep your questions simple (but interesting!) to capture your mobile fans.

Include calls to action

If you’re audience can’t figure out what you want them to do, they won’t do it. Be clear and to the point, but don’t neglect your CTAs – they’re a must for deal-striking and success-tracking.
