Research Trending Topics  

Doing your research can make or break your business. With research, you can find out how popular a topic you want to discuss is, discover more information and find other people who are talking about the same topic (a perfect opportunity to network!).

Also, make sure  that the topic you want to discuss  is relevant to your business!

Make sharing easy for your visitors!  

You know how annoying it is when you really want to tell your friends about something awesome you found on the web but there is no share button?

It’s the worst.

Yes, you could  just copy the URL and paste it in a email or Facebook but that takes effort!

Instead, implement a share button!

There are many different tools and systems you can use to implement this. For example:

Provide Context in Headlines

Think about newspapers. All their headlines catch your eye and compel you to  read them. You should do the same to your headline.

Proving context will tell the reader what they are about to read about and if they are interested. If you don’t tell your reader what they are going to read about, they are more likely not to read.

Step  #4:
Capitalize on Visual Interest

Pictures attract people because many people aren’t interested in reading a huge block of text. So, including pictures will increase your views and get more people reading your posts.

When you are putting pictures in your posts, please know that you can not just take a picture off google or another search engine and put it on your blog with a link where you got the picture off of. If you do this, you are at extreme risk of getting sued. You are not paying to  use that picture and it isn’t yours. If you don’t want to get sue, find a website with free stock pictures. This way you will not be sued.

Prioritize Your Social Outreach by Network

There are many different social media websites that you can use to expand your business and gain more customers/ followers. You have to find what works for your business.

Facebook has the biggest user base, so you can access many people this way, but there are draw backs. You have to pay to get your ads more out there and there are rules on hashtags and pictures.

Twitter has the second-largest user base and is directed towards younger users. Hashtags are very popular and can be used for your advantage. But, your business can get loss in the stream of other business if you don’t post multiple times a day.

LinkedIn is also a good place to post your blog posts. It is a very good place to network and discuss topics related to leadership and professionalism.

Pinterest is not the ideal place to advertise your business because if people don’t search for your business, people are not likely to find it. You can post your blog post on Pinterest, so make sure you use pictures and create a good headline.

Google+ is an active place and is used many by frontline developers and tech-savvy people. But other then that, most people don’t use it. Many people find it a pain and don’t know how to use it.

Post During Peak User Hours

You want people to see your posts, so posting during peak user hours is a must. But, do you know the hours?

If you don’t, don’t fret. Many people don’t know the peak hours and their posts go to the bottom of the pile.

According to HubSpot research, these are the best times to engage your readers:

  • Post on Facebook on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 1:00 PM, or between 3:00 and 4:00 PM on Wednesdays or 1:00 and 4:00 PM on Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Twitter is typically used at work and at home, but mostly during downtimes like long commutes and breaks. Post to Twitter from 12:00 to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. Also possibly 5:00 to 6:00 PM on Wednesdays.
  • Professionals use LinkedIn, most often during work hours, but not all day. Post to LinkedIn early in the day (7:30 to 8:30 AM), or lunchtime (12:00 PM), and finally near the end of the day (5:00 to 6:00 PM) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Post new content to Pinterest between 2:00 and 4:00 AM and evening hours every day. Also, Fridays around 5:00 PM. Finally, the best time to post to Pinterest is Saturdays between 8:00 and 11:00 PM.
